Your Future is in Your Praise

This is what God told me concerning the year 2007. Preaching in a service at the end of last year I was shocked to hear these words fly from my mouth: “Your future is in your praise”.

Shortly after as I prayed that it came alive to me that our praise has the potential to release atomic power – and that your future and mine can be altered by our praises unto God.

The best way to illustrate this is by using Acts 16.

Acts 16:25, 26 – And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

Now we are not sure how long these men were sentenced to jail but one thing is for sure, the jailors were not intending to let them go in the near future. After all, the magistrate said, “Don’t let them escape”. These were a waste of words as these guys literally overturned their verdict.

But how?

This is what happened then in that jail cell and will happen whenever you and I lift our hands and hearts to praise God. Wherever we praise God, He will show up there. It’s like ants and sweet or milk. Like rats and cheese. Praise is a “lure”, if you will, for the Manifest Presence of God. Look at Psalm 22:3

Psalm 22:3 – But thou [art] holy, [O thou] that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

David said God will come live in the praise of Israel. In other words, God is house hunting – not necessarily for a city apartment or a suburban condo – but rather He wants to live where there is praise.

So without praise, men like Paul and Silas would have to resort to hopelessness and despondency. However, the moment they entered into praise, God came on the scene. Remember: with God all things are possible.

I remember praying for a girl sometime ago who was mentally insane. I was called in by a youth worker from the church she attended to come and pray. As I prayed there, along with a team of people, I knew God wanted to do a miracle but for some strange reason we were not breaking through. Are you stuck in a place too long and need to move? Remember you can alter your future with your praise. I stopped everyone and decided we would just join hands and sing unto God praises. As we did, this girl that was dumb and mentally deranged due to a curse she picked up at a cult yard, was totally delivered by worship and praise. You see she could have remained like that forever but her future was altered by our singing praises unto God.

Just like in 2 Chronicles 20 when Jehoshaphat and his people were faced by three armies. Everything would be altered by their praise. The threat of their annihilation would not be realized. As they praised God, He came and set an ambush and defeated their enemies. This is how your future will turn by your praise.
